HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of posts! Perfectism has been having some backend issues and its almost impossible to post.

However even if its going to take me HOURS to post a paragraph and a half I want to share with you something I am ecstatic about! Let me indulge you in my latest purchase, two, actually. A few days ago I purchased the only loafers I have ever loved in my entire life. Those of you who know me, or have been reading Perfectism for a while, know that I have always hated flats. Hate with a passion. Ever since I have had Chloé, wearing heels 24/7 is right next to impossible, I believe it wasn’t too long ago that Kourtney Kardashian also presented this ‘revelation’ “Heels are a Mommy No, No.” Lets be honest chasing a 22 month old in flats is not so easy, in 140 Louboutins its a whole different story.

To be quite honest, let me state the obvious here, I’m not skinny, especially since having a baby girl…wearing flats has made me feel like an Oompa Loompa. I’m quite tall for a female so I have tried to convince myself for almost 2 years that it’s okay to wear flats. I haven’t succeeded yet.

Since Chloé, I have been trying to find a pair of flats I would actually wear. I saw these loafers when I was back in Italy for Luisa Via Roma’s Firenze4ever and fell in love but ignored it because I wouldn’t wear them. I haven’t stopped thinking of them since. I had a gift certificate from Luisa Via Roma and decided that it was time for flats, so that when I did decide to wear flats, not only look like an Oompa Loompa, but a Hobo Oompa Loompa wearing the only flats I have owned since…well, let’s not get into that. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you my [now] one and only FLATS *heaven sounds*

They are PERFECT! They go with almost anything! Haven’t worn them yet, but I will try and do an outfit post SOON! …and I will show the other pair soon as well.

Thank you Luisa Via Roma for shipping SO FAST!

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this a Fashion blogger’s dream. I am so grateful for all the opportunities and experiences I have had through Perfectism.

My fashion blog means everything to me, and it breaks my heart everyday that I can’t update and neglect Perfectism. I was away for personal reasons, and due to the relocation of my photographer.

A huge thank you to Moti Vaknin, my cousin and photographer, who helped me make this happen and get my fashion blogger dreams rolling again, and get Perfectism back up. Be sure to check out his Flickr!

The people who do not dance are the dead

When I came across this editorial I wanted to write something meaningful because it inspired me. Dance inspires me. Somehow it came out sounding like a middle school essay. I wanted to get my story across of why dance means so much to me and why it has such a big effect of my life even today when I have no time to dance other than at home. Dance is the love of my life hand in hand with fashion and music one does not exceed the other in any sort of way. Since the age of 2 and a half I have owned ballet shoes, going to ballet class was my favorite part of the week. You couldn’t rip those shoes off my feet if you tried, and the tutu? Let’s not even start on that. I had every color leotard you can think of in every shade you can find on a RGB grid and wore them everywhere. You know the kid in kindergarten who refuses to take off his superman costume? well, that was me, super ballerina.
When I entered elementary school I was made fun of, I had no friends, and no one ever talked to me. People who would talk to me would do it after school when no one was looking so they wouldn’t get made fun of too. Dance class was the only place people would talk to me, look at me, or be nice to me at all; so inevitably, Dance became my only escape from everything, and somehow it still is. Until now dance has been a place I can completely blank out and transfer my thoughts and feeling into movement, give into the music you know? It inspires almost everything I do from designing to striving for perfection in my art.

“Artists lead unglamorous daily lives of discipline and routine, but their work is full of passion. Each has a vision and feels responsibility to that vision.”

When I came across this editorial in Vogue Russia I stared at it for hours, and again a while after. I cannot rip my eyes off this peice, I have never connected this much to an editorial. Not like this.
It’s beautiful to me, it’s perfection.

Florence

During my whole stay in Florence I only had about 2 hours to tour around because i was so busy. However, I would much rather have been working these two hours too, but i had to see the city. So I took my camera threw on whatever I had left that was clean and went to see what Florence has to offer [in two hours]. In conclusion, lots of art, beautiful statues, and views that can take your breath away. I’ll leave you to decide here are the pictures I took:

Firenze4ever Photoshoot III

Fashion Blogger

For my third look I went totally crazy for these silver Balmain zipper leggings when my friend Sandra from Sandra’s closet tried the sequin ones on, I prayed to g-d they had them in my size [and Voila!].

I was going a completely different direction in my head for the look but decided mix it up. The original look in my head was to wear it with a little more tailored but over sized white button up and black shoes black accessories and a random colored bag. However I decided to step out of my comfort zone a bit and mix things that usually wouldnt go together.

I found this Givenchy shirt which i went CRAZY for so i was like hey! these dont really go together, lets put them together! The electric blue Mulberry bag I wanted to wear with electric blue Sergio Rossi sling backs but i felt it was too matchy-matchy so I took the most random color I could think of.

I’m wearing: Silver Balmain leggings, Little Glass Clementine gold and aquamarine necklace, Givenchy Shirt, Mullberry Bag, and Nicholas Kirkwood shoes

My second look for Firenze4ever at Luisa Via Roma was very simple but elegant, considering the fact that I had about 50,000 Euros worth of Jewelry on me, It was a luxurious look, and with Lanvin all over my body I felt nothing short of Luxurious.

Firenze4ever Photoshoot I

fashion blog

It has only been 3 days and my trip to Florence has been a week’s worth of excitement. I could never express how grateful I am to have been part of this experience to have been invited to Luisa Via Roma’s Firenze4ever 2nd edition. Today was full of styling photoshoots, and might I add; my feet have never endured so much pain in my life. It was SO worth it. I was on very uncomfortable louboutins from 8:30 am until 3am!
My assistant Sabine tried to get my to wear flip flops on various occasions throughout the day, and mocked me for not wearing flats. She is hilarious.
It has been hectic but SO much FUN. I have never had so much fun playing with clothes. I mean, who wouldn’t want Luisa Via Roma as their personal wardrobe? I know I wouldn’t decline the offer.
Here is my first look – Hope you like it!

Im wearing: Balmain Red Leather Jacket, Jason Wu White Bow Button up, Christian Louboutin Pumps, Valentino Bag/Clutch

Faceless Daywear

Perfectism
This Picture is dedicated to those who can not appreciate a work of art - fashion is my way of expressing myself. This is how I feel faceless.

Ever since I was younger I have been hearing the sentence “You are overdressed” a little too often. Now, its just I’m not the t-shirt and jeans kind of girl. Sure, I wear the occasional pair of jeans and purchase [rarely] t-shirts. Nevertheless, I have to say, it’s not my thing.
Take my father for an instance, he hates when i wear say a plain Herve Leger dress during the day or louboutins for “no reason”. My mother who is a fashion designer is expected to understand this, but she doesn’t appreciate nor comprehend it much better than he does.
I hate their comments, or other people’s for that matter, I don’t appreciate it at all. The fact that the standard is to wear plain clothes unless going to an event doesn’t sit right with me. I feel disgustingly unexpressed when I wear plain clothes, and I hate feeling like faceless cow.
I’m not a plain person and I don’t feel like my clothes should be either. I most definitely do not appreciate your comments and questions as to whether the designer was blind when he designed my dress. Mind you, Alber Elbaz is one of the most talented people on the face of this planet. The fact that you cannot appreciate a work of art is your problem, and should be kept to yourself.
Now, getting to the “Why would you pay that much for that?” that is simple. It is simply due to the uncomplicated fucking fact that I like it. So that shouldn’t set hurdles to your artless mind.
Now, I’m not saying you shouldn’t wear jeans and a t-shirt and you should look fancy wherever you go. If you want to and feel great, go ahead screw what everyone else thinks. Hell, I wear jeans and a t-shirt if i feel like it. All I’m saying is keep your stupid uncultured comments to yourself. If I cared for what you thought I would have asked.
Something that bothers me the most about this whole state of affairs is say I happen to stay home or just feel like wearing plain clothes, I absolutely detest when people ask as to why I’m not over dressed, and if I have lost my mind. This drives me absolutely ballistic; out of my g-d damn mind. I mean seriously?! If I could afford to walk around in Dolce & Gabbana, Balmain, Pucci, and YSL you can bet your ass that’s all I would wear. For now, you will have to live with my ‘imbalanced’ wardrobe and my ‘fruitless’ wallet.

“I don’t want to be cool, I want to be Fashion.” -Anna Dello Russo
