INSPIRATION | FASHION WEEK STREETSTYLE S/S 2012
Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. – Coco Chanel

Giambatista Valli
Givenchy
Elie Saab, Valentino
Christian Dior, Anne Valerie Hash
Armani Privé, Giambatista Valli
Giambatista Valli, Iris Van Herpen (which I would probably wear with a nude flowy chiffon dress underneath, but I think this piece is amazing)
Every Couture line is a tribute to fashion. The finest exquisitely crafted pieces of superlative quality; fine embroidery, beautiful fabrics, and exquisite masterpieces adorn tall slender models gracefully coming down the runway.
This Haute Couture week was opened by Christian Dior Couture with a astounding show, which proved Galliano not to have caused damage to Dior’s spectacular design team which displayed a fun lighthearted line which was a rampage of color: Alice meets the Mad hatter. However the big elephant in the room was indeed Galliano’s absence to pull the show together.
Giambatista Valli’s first take on couture was indeed a spectacular one, and obviously one of my favorites.
Even though Iris Van Herpen is a “youngster” in the fashion world her Couture line was by far the one of the most creative lines I have ever seen, I cannot wait to see more of her work!
But on the top of my list: Givenchy. Can Ricardo Tisci do no wrong?! Characteristically, he created a masterpiece of a line that took my breath away. The sheer, embroidered, gilded fabrics…I cannot even begin to imagine the amount of work put into every dress. Every couture week I can’t wait to see Givenchy and pray that one day I will own even half a couture piece in my wardrobe.
There is nothing more satisfying than fashion week, and definitely not more than Haute Couture week: The streets become runways of the latest trends, from the high fashion luxury brands; Prada, Balenciaga, Balmain, Chanel, Mcqueen and heards of feet in red soles: Christian Louboutin.
The strees are flooded with inpiration; trust me, there is nothing more beautiful.

Want to know a secret? If you’ve been following my blog you know that last year I was obsessively blogging about H&M’s brilliant collaboration with Lanvin. Wonder who is going to be next?
VERSACE.
Once declined working with H&M in the past, Italian fashion house Versace will be collaborating with H&M later this year. Donatella Versace will design a line to be sold in H&M stores all over the world this coming November 17th.
Donatella worked hard to position Versace as a luxury brand; she claimed creating a line for H&M would create a hindrance of that, and cause confusion towards the brand.
“I respect everyone who does it,” she said. “But the reason I didn’t do it is because I work very hard to put the Versace line in the luxury section. I think to put the Versace line in H&M would confuse the brand.”
“The line is Versace.” Donatella says. H&M hinted that there will be extensive use of leather, silk, print, and color. There will be 40 pieces: 20 for Women, and 20 for Men. The line will include Jewelry and accessories. Women’s will include leather jackets, day dresses, evening dresses, boots, shoes and bags. The collection is also rumored to include bed sheets and pillows.
Let the panic-stricken anticipation begin , fashionistas!
Do you think Donatella will be able to work her magic like Alber?

she is not only channeling the Mcqueen DNA, She is the Mcqueen DNA.
The extremes of endeavor went as far as the firing of porcelain pieces, designed to look like shards of heraldic plates, which paved the surfaces of two corsets. A medieval crest, dozens of hours of work, had been appliquéd and embroidered onto a bodice.
Im wearing: Lanvin <3 H&M tulle dress, swarovski tear drop necklace and tear drop earrings, Nine West metallic mouse-grey shoes, H&M rings, Diamond cougar ring
This dress makes me feel like a 5 year old Carrie Bradshaw; it definitely makes me feel like a little girl again and I absolutely love it.

Today is the big event and i have no clue how im wearing my hair… i have an appointment at 2 and its already 12. I’m leaning towards putting my hair up, because the dress is too gorgeous to cover with hair; but then theres my ears which need to be covered with hair… so… problem.
To be honest i dont feel like going anymore at all. I want to get dressed go for hair and make up take pictures and go to sleep.
2:00 pm
Okay on the way to the hair dresser and i think im putting my hair up in a messy bun…
the hair dresser refused to put my hair in a messy bun saying my hair is too pretty to hide, after arguing politely with “yeah, i dont know i really wanted my hair up because of my dress” to which he replied “your hair is prettier” at some point i got really pissed off and just let him do what he did, then i went home and did it myself. i ended up only putting it half up. My mother comes in the house and and goes “look! it doesnt even look like i went to the hair dresser…and he didnt even want to fix it” and went on about how he told her that she looks good that way and if he changes it it will look bad.
Usually he’s amazing. Guess he was having a bad hair day? So i ended up doing my moms hair too.
She was so pissed off she crashed the car into someone elses because she wasnt paying atention. Nothing serious… but we ended up being late.
5:00 pm
Getting our make up done by one of ‘Beauty and the Geek’s make up artist.. everyone looks amazing… except my makeup feels has the little mermaid from bollywood feel to it [dont know why].. but i ended up liking it and went with it. I regret that descision, it was way too much for me.
It ended up being a great night even though we were super late. It was a nice venue and there was lots of good wine, and i hear the food was good. Everyone looked beautiful and i saw people I havent seen in ages.
One of the women there were wearing my mom’s designs I tried to get a picture but it didnt work and the picture came out dark and blurry; I didnt have another go at it because she kept looking….i need to get a new camera….
The dress?
Pros: its gorgeous, comfortable and pretty lightweight for its size.
Cons: it doesnt fit in my closet coz its so huge, when theres no ribon on it, its literally like fitting a circus tent in your closet… but i dont care. Its brilliant.
Okay we’ve all been blogging a little too much about the Lanvin x H&M line. Now that its all over, I have to admit I’m probably the happiest girl in the world right now. Yes, I waited in line for 3 hours, geared in my most comfortable flats, for the store to open and probably spent another 2 hours inside trying things on and trying to decide what to take then another hour in line for the cashier.
My arms are scratched and bruised from having too many hangers on them and they ache like i lifted weights from carrying the bags all the way home. I happened to take the train so to not get stuck in traffic [psycho much?]. Well, I didnt get stuck in traffic, but i did end up carrying 3 giagantic bags, and about 4 more garment bags that made sure everybody knew i want Lanvin, not diamonds. Obviously, i do.
I won’t show you what i got just yet I’m going to put them into looks later and post them other than the tulle dress im wearing in the pictures; and on that note…Instead of the Zuhair Murad dress I wanted to wear, thats what im going to be wearing…but with my hair up and make up and all. Of course.
I dont know about you but the highlight of my week is probably the Lanvin for H&M line. I’m psyched out of my mind because im going to buy e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.k. Okay, almost everything.
For now, im window shopping [see below for pictures of the line]
One of my favorite blogs, Gattobravo Miao, is an illustration blog which just did personalized versions of the Lanvin for H&M line; and i absolutely adore them.
Here they are:

Has anyone else gone almost crazy every time they pass H&M? I’m so jealous of the mannequins. Window shopping until the 23rd.. [tomorrow! yes!]
Lanvin Hearts H&M collection checked into the Pierre NYC hotel in Manhattan Thursday; before hitting the stores on Saturday. Crazy, fun, and nothing less than glamorous don’t even begin to explain the night. It was a sea of beautiful models, designers, celebrities and fashion bloggers.
The designs displayed were higher-end versions of the Lanvin’s line for H&M; Alber Elbaz explains “we decided to take all the clothes [Lanvin] designed for H&M, re-work them and give each one an individual touch”. Vogue’s beautiful Anna Dello Russo Strutted the catwalk for the event looking beautiful as ever.
After the show there was a “shopping after party” where the runway designs went for sale for UNICEF charity; and people’s credit cards where maxed out.

Lanvin makes me drool.

I want these Karl Lagerfeld Pants. I have no clue where I would where them to, but I want themmmm.

I want it! I want it! Oh, how I adore fur. Give me little cute animals on a coat any day. I know, I’m horrible…But I can’t help it when it looks this good.

How does D&G do it? Every time! they just take my breath away.

I am SO head over heels for these Louboutins!!

This is an editorial from the August issue of magazine Sortilége. If you haven’t heard of it you should order a copy especially if you have a love for editorials like me. Their work is ferosh. Styled by the brilliant Capucine Safyurtlu and photographed by Miguel Reveriego.
Gucci always knows how to do it. Frankly, there’s nothing special about it and yet it looks so unbelievably, ridiculously, and fabulously artistic. These shots are just overflowing with sexy. Now, I’m off to a Gucci store. Not even kidding.
