This week I have had the honor of attending Bangkok Couture Fashion Week thanks to Siam Paragon and Fide Multimedia, and their wonderful team, especially Kreingsak Tantiphipop.
I arrived in a black and silver Mimi Illouz Couture gown, Lanvin Stilettos, a Alexander Wang clutch, and to top it off; Louis Vuitton bunny ears headpiece. I walked into the elevator taking up the space of 3 people in my gown, with people staring me down and asking to take pictures with me on their iPhone. I was the last to get out of the elevator at the Royal Paragon Hall, to a red carpet running all the way from the elevator to the entrance with men in suits standing in neat soldier-like rows on each side of the carpet. Surrounded by every photographer, journalist, and fashion icon Bangkok could possibly have, I felt like nothing short of a modern day princess.
The evening began with a cocktail reception, with a gigantic oversized lamp for a bar. Absolute Elixir was served in every possible form, and waiters in tuxedos served drinks, ore d’houvres, and truffles and bonboniers in Cosmopolitan cups.
After the reception we were escorted to the catwalk where I was lucky enough to have a view from the front row. The catwalk was covered by white metal cage-like byzantine domes. Dresses of hounds tooth and ‘McQueenesque’ 3-Dimensional butterflies came down the catwalk accessorized by butterfly facemasks.
What do you guys think? I am already really looking forward to attend next year!
